Successfully reporting on the sustainability of a major plastics producer
The Situation
The Bul Hanine oil field is located approximately 100km off the east coast of Qatar, in approximately 15 to 40 m water depth and is fully owned and operated by Qatar Petroleum (QP).
The field has been developed over more than 40 years and is now highly mature with more than 1,300 MMbbls already produced. Significant reserves remain however, such potential cannot be realized through the existing facilities alone due to ageing and/or specific process requirements, and so QP is planning a major redevelopment of the field in two phases.
