Successfully reporting on the sustainability of a major plastics producer
The Situation
Borouge is a leading polyolefins producer headquartered in Abu Dhabi UAE which provides plastics solutions for the automotive, pipes, cables and packaging industries. Borouge is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Austria-based Borealis, a provider of chemical and innovative plastics solutions.
Approach
Borouge retained Advisian to produce their annual sustainability report based on the most current GRI Standards for 2015 to 2017.
Advisian’s scope of work included:
- Collection and verification of data required to support reporting of performance against GRI sustainability indicators
- Interviews with focal points in all functions across Borouge
- Compilation of data and development of the submission for internal (ADNOC) sustainability reporting requirementsPreparing the Sustainability Report in alignment with GRI Standards
Results
From the information collected from Borouge, all information gaps were successfully completed and the work and deliverables were submitted within a tight delivery schedule.
